The Pentagon's former chief strategist admitted to passing classified information about Ukraine and Iran to journalists, Axios reports. Lt. Gen. Brett Silvia, former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff's strategic planning office, was fired this week. According to the publication, Silvia pleaded guilty after four failed polygraph tests. The leaks started back in June 2025. To pass on confidential information to journalists, he used a signal-secured messenger, and met with one of the press representatives in person.
