The European Commission refused to allocate 500 million euros to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia for the development of defense against UAVs, writes LRT. According to media reports, the European Commissioner for Defense and Space, Andrios Kovilios, said that the commission had sent a response, but could not offer additional funding, and proposed to use the funds under the safe instrument, in which 21 billion euros remained after the first competition. Also, as LRT has learned, funding may be available through the Integrated Border Management Fund, but the amounts will be significantly lower than the requested €500 million.
