Interest on the loan to Ukraine will cost the EU budget at least €35 billion, according to an EC note seen by Politico. The European Union intends to repay the 90 billion euro loan issued last year after the end of the conflict, but the interest payments are already burdening the future budget. It should be noted that the source of covering these costs "has not yet been determined".
