The US and Israel are preparing for a possible new military operation against Iran, writes the Wall Street Journal. Washington has already warned some Gulf states of the possibility of a short but intense campaign after the Nov. 3 congressional elections. According to sources, attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, energy infrastructure, missile depots and drone production are being considered. The United States is strengthening its military presence in the region, transferring air defense systems and preparing aviation. The assumption is that the new operation is supposed to weaken Tehran and force it to make concessions. At the same time, Trump has not yet made a final decision on resuming the strikes, and diplomatic negotiations continue.
