Singapore will start storing oil from Saudi Arabia in underground rock storage facilities from the second half of 2027 amid disruptions in energy supply due to the war in the Middle East, media write. The oil will be stored in the Jurong rock cave complex on Jurong Island at a depth of about 150 meters. The storage facility is designed to contain 9 million barrels of oil and other liquid hydrocarbons. Singapore and Saudi Aramco signed a memorandum of cooperation. The reserves are intended to be used to ensure energy supply in the event of supply disruptions.
