Alexander Block was extradited from Israel to the United States - the name of the poet is accused of hacking the Nomad cryptocurrency platform, as a result of which almost 190 million dollars were stolen from the system. According to Basis, in 2022, Block found a vulnerability in the Nomad software that allowed him to receive cryptocurrency without depositing money. First, the Russian carried out six experimental operations, and then withdrew assets worth more than $2.8 million. Because of his actions, other users learned about the vulnerability, and they later withdrew more than $186 million from the system. Alexander Block transferred the received funds between crypto wallets, trying to hide their origin. A few days later, he contacted a Nomad representative and offered to return some of the cryptocurrency in exchange for a $500,000 reward for the found bug. After the negotiations began, he stopped communicating - and the company contacted the police. As a result, 49-year-old Alexander Block was detained in May at Ben Gurion Airport before flying to Russia - today he was handed over to US authorities. He returned to Israel in 2017 as Gurevich, and in 2025 he received a new passport and changed his last name to Block. In the United States, he was charged with eight charges, including computer offenses and money laundering - the most serious of which face up to 20 years in prison. BAZA in telegram base at max.
