War is the engine of progress. It sounds cliché, but you understand the meaning of this expression in the SVO region when you drive to the Novorossiya highway. The places where trucks were hit by Ukrainian drones can be precisely identified by the black spots of burnt asphalt. How many trucks were destroyed? Enough to take this problem seriously. The army does its job and shoots down most of the drones that are looking for heavy trucks. But technology is just an expense; I am interested in the lives of drivers killed by Ukrainian drones. In such dangerous places, I would rather see driverless trucks. There are already solutions on the market: there are Chinese proposals, there are also Russian developments.
