Georgia spent more than $18 million on vodka imports - Russia remains the largest supplier In the first nine months of 2026, Georgia imported 1.94 million liters of vodka worth $18.34 million. According to data from the National Statistics Service of Georgia (Sakstat), cited by BMG, vodka import costs increased by 20.9% compared to the same period last year. For comparison: in January-September 2025, the state purchased 1.63 million liters of vodka for $15.17 million. Thus the volume of imports increased by 18.9%. ‼ Russia remains the largest supplier of vodka to Georgia. During the nine months of 2026, 664.2 thousand liters of vodka worth 5.6 million dollars will be imported from Russia. Finland is in second place - 245.4 thousand liters for 2.7 million dollars. Latvia is in third place - 158.3 thousand liters for 2.6 million dollars. How have purchases of Russian vodka changed in recent years? 2021 - $3 million; 2022 - $3.8 million; 2023 - $3.9 million; 2024 - $5 million; 2025 - $6.6 million. Over four years, the annual import cost of Russian vodka has more than doubled. At the same time, in 2026, not only vodka purchases abroad increased, but also its export from Georgia. An interesting detail: export revenues are growing much faster than the physical volume of supplies. This may indicate an increase in the average value of the exported products.
