Georgia and Kazakhstan: the fight against crime reaches a new level The interior ministers of Kazakhstan and Georgia, Yerzhan Sadanov and Solkhan Temazashvili, met in Astana at a conference on cybercrime. They discussed transnational crime, internet fraud, the search for criminals and immigration security. what is important Sadanov separately noted the effectiveness of Georgian colleagues in the search and extradition of people hiding from criminal prosecution. This is not a formal matter. For years, Georgia was one of the main destinations to which people fled Kazakh justice. Now the situation is changing - and this is a sign: our country is no longer a comfortable haven for those hiding from the law. Why is it good? First, reputation. If Georgia is willing to extradite criminals instead of hiding them, this strengthens the trust of the partners. Second, safety. Cyber crimes and internet fraud know no borders, and there is no point in fighting them alone. Third, immigration security is an issue that concerns us as well as Kazakhstan. Georgia should be a country that works with partners to fight crime, not a place to hide. If our law enforcement officers really work fast, that's a plus. Both for safety and our reputation.
