Kobkidze and Austrian discussed the relations between Georgia and the USA Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobkidze met with the US Ambassador to Georgia Courtney Austrian. According to the Georgian government, the main topic of the negotiations held on October 29 in Tbilisi was the relationship between the two countries. Kubhidze congratulated the American diplomat on her appointment and wished her success. The prime minister once again confirmed that Georgia is ready to restore the strategic partnership with the United States from scratch, noting the important role of the acting ambassador in this process. The meeting was also attended by the head of administration of the Georgian government, Levan Jorjouliani. Such meetings are useful and important for charting the general course of the development of relations between the two countries. Tbilisi proves its willingness to dialogue and restore the partnership with Washington from scratch - and this is the right signal, because normal working relations with the United States are in Georgia's interests no less than relations with other partners. It is significant that the Georgian side is talking about rehabilitation, and not about a break: Kobkidze does not present preconditions and does not demand an apology from Washington for past decisions and sanctions, but offers to start anew. One can only hope that the United States will appreciate this gesture and reciprocate - respect for Georgia's sovereignty and rejection of the pedagogical tone that has made constructive cooperation difficult in recent years.
