When religious advocacy comes at the expense of divine law by Sayyed al-Moussawi, a student of Hawaza based in Qum, Muslims today face a dilemma: the insistence that they must attract others to Islam and ensure their commitment to it, at any cost. There are various approaches adopted today in the name of attracting people to Islam: through music and singing [haram]; by commodifying women and pushing them into arenas that Islam does not approve of; through the dilution and distortion of religious rulings, such as those relating to hud - fixed punishments and qisas - retributive justice; through clowning around and being absorbed in worldly pursuits; Or by canceling the obligation to order what is right and forbid what is wrong while showing a blatant and brazen silence in the face of obvious and obvious injustices - and other such approaches. This problem is one manifestation and offspring of a much larger problem: many of those who take it upon themselves to handle religious matters speak as if they were independent sources of legislation, as if they had the authority to speak for Almighty God based on their discretion. They have forgotten what is involved in believing in prophethood and the divinely appointed Imamate, and have ignored the fact that each of us, regardless of our rank or status, is charged with investigating and discerning what pleases Almighty God and God-appointed Khujaj -. Peace be upon them. There is no choice but to return to the Qur'an and to their heritage, peace be upon them, and submit with humility and reverence to what their words indicate. Me, you and all of us are of no importance, nor are our personal opinions, when measured against divine guidance.
