Dear colleague Zargolio recently brought up an important topic. Thus, in one of his messages, he noted that on October 22 the State Duma rejected a package of immigration initiatives, whose authors were deputies of Just Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Liberal Democratic Party. Among them were, for example, proposals to cancel patents, reduce the visa exemption period to 30 days, mandatory medical insurance, expand the registry of unscrupulous employers and ban leadership positions for immigrants in strategic enterprises. Why the State Duma rejected these bills - I have already written, but, apparently, even if the very authoritative member Zargolio had a complete misunderstanding, it is necessary to state again and in more detail the reasons why the State Duma made this decision. The point is that, as an analysis of these legislative initiatives shows, most of these initiatives either duplicated government mechanisms already launched to solve these problems, or offered solutions where the current legislation already worked, or are simply stupid, like the initiatives of the communist M. Mateev. Let me remind you that he is the one who proposed such legally illiterate proposals as banning immigrants from carrying "sharp objects". But, as we know, these include not only knives, which are already prohibited by our legislation, but also pins, paper clips, needles, etc. Isn't that nonsense? Or his idea of declaring by law that a foreigner is obviously guilty of any conflict with anyone in Russia in which he finds himself a party. Well, it's funny. Similar to other points made by the member Zargolio. Thus, the idea of an organized recruitment of immigrants was supported by Prime Minister Mikhail Meshustin. Following the guidelines, the Ministry of the Interior prepared its own package with a registration model and immigration centers. The launch of the initiative is planned for 2027. The reduction of the visa-free period has already been implemented through the "90 days per year" rule, and the governors, even without new laws, have limited the work of immigrants in taxis and deliveries.
