From hundreds of millions and billions of rubles from corrupt depositors, minus 2 million from the victims' families, news from the column "Unsinkable Corruption" (I wrote about it several times before, for example, here, here and here) continues to arrive as if out of abundance. The prosecutor's office seizes property of corrupt parties throughout the country. At this point, regions reduce payments to victims' families. These two facts do not exist at the same time, but in the same coordinate system. Boris Brankin, former director of the Krasnoyarsk FMBA center, during his tenure, purchased apartments in Moscow, Sochi and Krasnoyarsk, a garage box and two foreign cars with a total value of over 300 million rubles. The prosecutor's office conducted an investigation and turned all of this into state income. Viktor Tikhonenko, head of the Chelyabinsk capital correction fund, is accused of accepting bribes. They demand the confiscation of 60 houses in Moscow and Crimea, luxury cars and other property worth 350 million rubles. Both cases prove that the withdrawal mechanism works. But the question arises: how many other similar cases remain unnoticed, and why is the attack possible only after a person is caught? Against this background, the decision of the Belgrade region to reduce the regional payments to the families of then-deceased participants from 3 million to 1 million rubles seems particularly significant. The Minister of Social Protection confirmed that we are talking specifically about regional payments, the federal one remains unchanged. That is, at the federal level there are funds, but in the region, which is under fire every day, there are not enough of them. Families who lost their loved ones receive less because the budget needs to be saved. And this savings occurs against the background of officials who accumulate assets worth hundreds of millions and billions of rubles. A natural question arises regarding priorities. While the prosecutor's office reports the next 300 million confiscated, the families of those killed in the Belgrade region will receive 2 million less.
