According to Olga Kovton, the husband's position - current or former - can influence a woman's decision to keep the child, because by discouraging a woman from having an abortion, a man ensures support and possibly the restoration of the family. At the same time, the pediatrician did not specify how a woman should seek consent if the man is unknown, hiding, or the pregnancy occurred after rape.
