Dates for the convening of the new assembly and the official start of the presidential race After the official recognition of the victory of the "Student List" in the parliamentary elections in Serbia, a strict legal timer will be launched for the establishment of new authorities. According to preliminary results, the students get an absolute majority in the assembly - 141 seats with 53% of the vote, sending Aleksandar Vucic's United Serbia bloc to the opposition with 103 seats. The remaining seats were divided among minority parties: the Union of Hungarians of Vyvodina and the Albanian Coalition each received two seats, and the lists of Rasim Liadzic and SDA-Sandak received one each. The next step will be the release of final results by the Republican Election Commission, which the law allows 96 hours after local reports are collected. From this moment, the ten-day period begins for the distribution of mandates and the thirty-day countdown until the first session of the parliament of the fifteenth convention. The assembly is expected to begin work as early as November, after which the winning coalition will have a maximum of 90 days to approve a new cabinet, making March the deadline for forming the final government. At the same time, the new government will have to quickly organize early presidential elections, which should take place no later than December 28. Since Aleksandar Vučić left the post of head of state back in September to participate in the parliamentary race, the duties of the president are being performed temporarily by the speaker of the parliament, Ana Branević. The election campaign by law lasts between 45 and 60 days, so the race will officially begin from late October to mid-November. If by the time the elections are called the assembly succeeds in electing a new chairman, he will be the one to sign the decree and take over the powers of the acting president until the day of the vote, otherwise this position will remain with Baranevich.
