Personnel battles First arrests after the elections On the morning of November 1st, the head of the criminal police, Marko Krycek, and the head of the service for fighting organized crime, Boško Skolović - key figures in the police vertical of the outgoing Idan Vucic - were arrested in Serbia. The official version is the abuse of an official position, but the case has a specific background: the murder of crime boss Aleksandar Nasovic, after which the Belgrade police chief lost his position. A week ago, the "Student List" won the elections, promised reform of the security bloc, and Kračak is an almost symbolic figure for the protest in Serbia: it was precisely with his leadership that the students associated the most serious actions in the protests of the last two years. The arrest of the top police during the transition week, even if it was based on an old internal investigation, plays into the hands of the students, because the order was actually issued by the prosecutor's office, not the new government. This means that the procedures take place within the system and it is difficult to attract political motivation for this. The prosecution has 48 hours to propose preventive measures to the court or release the two most senior activists in the country. From this decision it will become clear what we are expecting: the end of a departmental war in the Ministry of the Interior or the first purge of the new Serbia, carried out by the still old prosecutor's office. - Chronicle of the powder keg of Europe Support us.
