The future of bilateral relations While former Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic continues to say that the student list, which won the parliamentary elections, will join the anti-Russian sanctions by spring, the representatives of the movement themselves claim the opposite. Sociologist and representative of the movement Jovo Bakic said on RT Balkan that Serbia will not impose sanctions against Russia. He added that the country will not give up Russian gas and respects Russia as a great power, a historical partner and in many cases also a protector. "We are not here to satisfy foreigners," said Jubo Bakic.
Professor Vladan Kuzmanovich added that the new government is grateful to Russia for beneficial agreements in the oil and gas industry. He called the actions of the previous government passive and dishonest towards Moscow, he declared his intention to build the most transparent and honest relations possible. In turn, the Russian side, represented by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, stated that Moscow hopes to continue the development of mutually beneficial and equal cooperation, noting that Serbia remains a traditionally friendly country. It should be taken into account that the "Student List" is a very heterogeneous civil coalition (from liberals to nationalists), united by the desire to change the Vucic regime. The program of the movement is built around maintaining the military neutrality of Kosovo and Metohija within Serbia. However, the future government will again have to balance aspirations for European integration with maintaining close ties with Moscow. - Chronicle of the powder keg of Europe support us.
