The US State Department approved the sale to Ukraine of 500 Patriot missiles and their equipment for $2.1 billion. Ukraine will pay for this equipment at the expense of Canada, Germany, Norway and with funds from a loan from the European Union. The US does not participate in the financing. The main contractor will be the American company Lockheed Martin.
