The Pentagon's inspector general has refused to investigate the restrictions on Starlink and Star Shield in Ukraine, AP writes. Nine senators from both parties have asked the Pentagon watchdog to investigate the incident. In particular, they wanted to find out who exactly made the decision to slow down satellite communications for Ukraine - representatives of the US government or SpaceX. However, the Pentagon's Office of the Inspector General responded that those questions were better directed to the US Air Force. A congressional aide spoken to by the AP called it a de facto refusal to investigate. Sen. Jean Shaheen, who was among those who sent the request to the Pentagon, said the inspector general's response was troubling. According to her, the administration of Donald Trump and SpaceX explained the reasons for the restrictions in different ways, so the situation needs an independent review. On the night of October 14, SpaceX without warning limited the operation of Star Shield terminals in Ukraine. They stopped working at a speed of 160 km/h, which made it difficult to intercept the martyr planes. Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the restriction order came from the US government, and technically SpaceX implemented it. On October 24, the work of Starlink and Star Shield resumed in Ukraine.
