The "non-stop" trip around the world by ship ended due to the increase in fuel prices - some passengers sold their homes for it, writes the Independent. According to Villa Vie Residences, fuel costs, which previously averaged $1,800 per cabin per month, have risen to $6,000 to $8,000 in some parts of Asia. Because of this, people were asked to leave Villa V Odyssey in Cambodia. The ship will temporarily cease operations and the crew will remain on board to support her. Now the company is looking for additional funding and temporary accommodation for passengers. The liner Villa V Odyssey embarked on a non-stop round-the-world trip in 2024. It is designed for about 970 passengers. Photo: PA Wire.
