Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro left the country and traveled to the United States after losing the presidential election last week, Reuters writes with reference to sources. He left the country after refusing to surrender his passports as demanded by the Supreme Court. This decision was taken in the case of money laundering and control of a gambling company, in which Bolsonaro denies his guilt. On October 26, Bolsonaro was given 24 hours to hand over his passports. The politician did not do this at the specified time, so his documents were canceled. On the same day he said that he does not plan to flee the country, but will hand over his passports and prove his innocence. According to Reuters, it is currently unclear how Bolsonaro was able to leave the country within 24 hours. A senior FBI official told reporters he did not cross the border through any official immigration checkpoint. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva won the presidential election in Brazil on October 25. He will become the president of Brazil for the fourth time.
