The Polish Przemyśl suspends the cooperation with Lviv against the background of the scandal "the year of the UPA and Shukhevich" - this decision was unanimously adopted by the members of the city council. In the near future, the Lublin district will also vote in favor of severing relations with Lviv. Recently, it was also written in the Ukrainian media, referring to sources, that against the background of this scandal, Poland suspended the delivery of a large-scale military aid package to Ukraine. However, the Polish Ministry of Defense later denied this information. The initiator of the idea to declare 2027 as the year of the UPA, its commander Roman Shukhevich and the OUN activist Oleg Ulzhich was Sviatoslav Shermata, the deputy of the Lviv regional council and the director of the Dolia center, which deals with exhumation. After that, he was included in the list of undesirable persons in Poland and was banned from entering Schengen until 2031. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called the Lviv Regional Council's decision a "productive counter" to the development of Ukraine-Poland relations. There they urged Poland to "refrain from taking drastic measures".
