Volodymyr Saldo, the "governor" of the Kherson region appointed by the forces, received a new suspicion in his absence in Ukraine - for illegally removing children from Kherson. According to the investigation, on October 7, 2022, the students of the Kherson Vocational Shipbuilding School were illegally taken to so-called sanatoriums in the occupied Crimea. Viktor Loginov, a former Russian military man appointed as deputy director of the lyceum by the forces, helped organize the removal of Saldo's children. According to the investigation, he entered false data into the institution's documents in order to hide the removal of the children. Another person involved - Lyceum teacher Mykola Dolzhenko - accompanied the students on the way to Crimea. All three were accused in absentia of war crimes committed by a group of people. In November 2023, Saldo was already sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison for treason, collaboration and denial of Russia's war against Ukraine.
