U.S. could launch a large-scale operation against Iran within 96 hours after a directive from Donald Trump, writes CNN referring to American sources. The U.S. has already amassed sufficient forces in the region for possible strikes. The Pentagon is identifying targets for strikes at Iran's energy facilities, military and nuclear sites. Trump has not yet decided whether to issue the order, but according to CNN sources, he leans toward a large-scale operation. It is likely he could do so after the midterm elections in the U.S. on November 3. At the same time, American officials warn: previously, Trump already abandoned decisions he had initially leaned toward. If the U.S. and Israel attack Iran, Tehran and the Houthis could respond against U.S. forces in the region and beyond, writes CNN quoting American intelligence. On October 21, the FT wrote that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to renew the strikes on October 10-11, but Trump did not want to renew the war before the U.S. congressional elections.
