The Lithuanian budget lacks 20 million euros from the compensation for the tariffs.
"Gas prices continue to rise. Today it is already clear that the funds given for the new season will not be enough for the municipalities. The deficit will be at least 20 million euros," Svetlana Kolpina, representative of the Ministry of Social Protection and Employment, told reporters.
According to the data of the Energy Price Supervision Service, heating this season will cost between 13% and 25% more than last year.
