Muscovite gave a record 450 million rubles to fraudsters under the pretext of leaking personal data - Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The attackers contacted the woman on Telegram in the name of a colleague, using a name and profile picture known to her. The interlocutor asked if the treasurer from the FSB had contacted her and warned that he would contact her soon.
Then the fraudsters convinced the Muscovite that the organization where she worked leaked personal data and her bank savings were in danger. Under the pretext of saving money, the woman was forced to withdraw money from her accounts and hand over the cash to the courier, allegedly for the purpose of transferring it to a reissued secure account.
