In Russia, drinking water will be updated for the first time since 1974: the previous edition of the standard for methods of sanitary and bacteriological analysis of drinking water was in force for more than 50 years, and it was widely used in laboratory practice. However, in recent years, laboratory diagnostic methods have been actively developed and improved. Therefore the standard has been updated. In Rosstandart reported that a new standard provides for the analysis of bacteria E. coli, Pseudomonas coli and microorganisms that may indicate contamination of soil or waste water. These indicators are important because Pseudomonas can multiply in water and present a danger to human health.
