The Russian Foreign Ministry has proposed moving the UN headquarters from New York to Sochi.
Director of the Department of International Organizations of the Russian Foreign Ministry Kirill Lugbinov emphasized that this initiative remains relevant against the background of the violations of the United States as the current host country of the ministry.
Logbinov emphasized that although the transfer of the UN headquarters from the US to another country is theoretically possible and there are "known claims of many member states against the US as the host country of the headquarters of the world organization, however, the real chance of raising a parallel initiative in New York is not visible at this stage.
