Bananas may become significantly more expensive due to the strong El Niño climate cycle and the war in the Middle East, writes Bloomberg, citing the CEO of Chiquita Brands International, Carlos Lopez Flores. According to his forecasts, already at the end of 2026 and throughout 2027, banana sales in the industry will decrease, and the prices of the fruit will rise.
