Over a thousand people joined the bone marrow donor register thanks to the university campaign From October 12 to 18, the universities of Russia hosted the all-Russian "Giving Life" campaign. It united more than 200 universities, and over a thousand people joined the federal bone marrow donor registry during the campaign. The universities organized donor and educational events: students and teachers donated blood, got to know the registry work and learned how to become a potential donor. The Good Association of the Russian Federation held the event for the third time with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and with the participation of the FMBA of Russia. The registry collects data from people who may become hematopoietic stem cell donors for patients in need of a transplant. The more participants in the database, the higher the probability of finding a person with suitable characteristics for a particular patient.
