The tax evasion case of Alexei Belinovsky, the husband of the creator of the online marathon Elena Belinovskaya, was canceled due to his participation in the war against Ukraine, the state agency TASS reported with reference to law enforcement authorities. "The criminal prosecution in the case of tax evasion (Part 2 of Article 198 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against Alexei Balinovsky in connection with his participation in a special military operation," TASS quotes an anonymous interlocutor as saying. In the spring of 2024, it became known that Alexei Balinovsky signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense and went to war against Ukraine. It was reported in the media that he serves in the 95th Infantry Battalion together with the former lawyer Alman Pashaev, who defended the actor Mikhail Afremov. After that, he was put on the federal wanted list because he did not appear before the investigator in a criminal tax evasion case. TASS reported that in early September 2024 Balinovsky was detained in the SVO area. And after the arrest of his "colleague" Alman Pashiev, he became a victim in the case of a former lawyer accused of fraud, who promised to help him avoid criminal responsibility for a monetary reward. As TASS notes, the criminal proceedings against Balinovsky were stopped, and the search for him was canceled after he returned to the war. Alexei Belinovsky, together with his wife, the creator of online marathons and blogger Elena Belinovsky, was involved in a criminal case for tax evasion in the amount of more than 900 million rubles. In March 2025, Belinovskaya was sentenced to 5 years in prison, and the court also collected 587 million rubles from her in a civil lawsuit. In October of that year, her sentence was commuted to 4 years and 6 months. Protect yourself and your loved ones from online tracking, buy ASTRA VPN or join a free proxy.
