Russians' spending on medicines and medical services increased by 22-26% from October 2025 to September 2026. Russians' expenditure on medicines increased by 22%, and on medical services by 26% compared to the previous 12 months, Kommersant writes. According to SberIndex, the average bill for the purchase of medicines and medical products increased by 14.8% to 1,000 rubles. At the same time, the number of purchases per person decreased by 3.1%. Experts point out that the increase in costs is explained not only by the increase in drug prices, but also by a change in demand for more expensive drugs. At the same time, buyers have become more economical: they are less likely to purchase drugs in reserve and more often rely on doctor's prescriptions. Among certain categories, the most notable price increases were anti-diarrheal and anti-epileptic drugs, as well as sleeping pills and sedatives. In the private medicine market, the average bill for the reviewed period increased by 14.2%, to 5.6 thousand rubles. Clinics attribute rising costs to increased demand for complex and high-tech treatments. Therefore, in the "Be Healthy" chain, the average bill for the months of January-October increased by 15.2% to 4.9 thousand rubles, and in the "Fomina Clinic" - by 18% to 10.9 thousand rubles. In the latter, prices rose by 8.5% on average. Image for illustration.
