Deputy State Duma Ustenina appealed to the Ministry of Culture because of Leninka's rave party Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Nina Ustenina, sent an appeal to the Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova criticizing the LitRAV rave party, which took place in the Russian State Library (RSL) on October 31, Kommersant and RBC write in reference to Ustenina's letter that to Lyubimova, available to the editor. The deputy sought to clarify the rules for holding entertainment and commercial events in federal cultural institutions of historical and national significance. According to her, organizing events of this type goes against Putin's decree on the preservation of traditional values. In a comment to RBC, Ustenina explained that she wanted to understand what the Ministry of Culture had assumed when providing a "temple of books" for the party. "For me, the library is really a temple, a temple. I saw the position of the library, which is not a room where books are stored. But, you see, the entire library is a repository, it is a temple of books, so there, as in a museum, a special regime is required," RBC quoted her. According to Ustenina, in this case it cannot be said that there is a separate "orgy hall" and "book hall". The deputy added that she intends to discuss this issue with the library. She also stated that she is not opposed to private entertainment events per se. "Such activities should be carried out taking into account the profile of the institution, the legal requirements, the conditions for the use of state property and the need to ensure the safety of the library's collections," Ustenina says in her appeal, as quoted by Kommersant. On the night of November 1, the Russian State Library, together with the publishing house Eksmo-AST, organized a literary rave, in which about three thousand people participated. The publisher has already reported that safety measures were taken: no damage was caused to the library and the book collections.
