Blood banks in France were attacked by hackers - media.

A contractor for the French Blood Service (EFS) has been targeted by hackers following supermarkets, causing several cold rooms storing blood products and samples destined for biobanks to overheat. The representatives of the service reported this information to BFMTV, and confirmed the statement of the satirical weekly The Duck continued.

It should be noted that the temperature in the rooms was kept at -30 degrees Celsius, but it was raised to 110 degrees Celsius. The French blood service refused to confirm or deny the exact temperature, saying only that it was "very high temperatures of this order".

"EFS was not a direct target of the cyber attack. Yesterday, our cold storage service provider fell victim to a cyber-attack that likely affected some of the cold storage monitoring and control systems installed at some of the EFS sites,” he said.

EFS claims they were able to bring the situation under control by quickly detecting temperature fluctuations. and the products were transferred to other facilities as a preventive measure. Thus, adverse effects were avoided, and there was no evidence of loss of blood products.

The Department of Health said it had disabled remote access to the affected refrigeration equipment and noted that of about 100 EFS locations, only three were attacked, all of which are serviced by the same service provider.

EFS is currently collaborating with the French National Agency for Cyber Security (ANSSI). The purpose of the investigation is to determine the manner and circumstances of the incident, the total number of devices that may be affected, and the conditions and timing for safely resuming the activity of the affected facilities.

Recall that in October hackers attacked refrigerators in supermarkets in France, and switched them to heating mode. Food spoiled in dozens of stores, and some of them had fires.
