NABU and SAPO uncover new criminal organization that paid bribes to security forces to cover fraudulent call centers The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Special Anti-Corruption Office (SAP) have uncovered another criminal organization as part of Operation Carthage. According to investigators, its participants systematically paid bribes to senior officials in the SBU, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office for patronage of fraudulent call centers and other illegal businesses. According to NABU and SAP data, the organization consisted of at least 12 people. Its creator and leader was a man called a "criminal" who was repeatedly convicted. He attracted law enforcement officers and senior representatives of the criminal environment to his activities. The Ukrainian media writes that we are talking about Andrei Osipov. He was previously arrested on suspicion of extorting a million dollars from a Russian citizen for assistance in stopping the criminal prosecution and preventing extradition. The published investigation materials also include: "Mexican" is a citizen of Russia, the founder and leader of the transnational drug cartel "Kimprom" (the media indicates that we are talking about the "drug lord" Yegor Burkin); "Boxer" and "Pasha" - subordinate to the "crime" that dealt with allocations of power; "Price" is one of the heads of the Department of Strategic Investigations in the National Police, responsible for covering the centers; "Counselor" - a police officer responsible for the security and protection of illegal businesses; "Akim" is a major general of the SBU, who ensured the protection of the group from checks by colleagues (the media writes that we are talking about the major, first deputy to the head of the national state defense department of the SBU, Sergey Duka). A senior SBU officer threatened to use weapons during the search, NABU reported earlier. "Up" quoted by a source indicated that it was a test.
