The Ministry of Industry and Trade offered to introduce "Russian breakfast" in Russian hotels and restaurants The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia invited hotels, pensions, holiday homes, cafes and restaurants to emphasize a separate category in the menu - "Russian breakfast". The corresponding concept is published on the department's website. Such a breakfast may include porridge, pancakes, cheesecakes, cottage cheese, fermented baked milk, meat and fish dishes, pies, chicken, dumplings and traditional pastries. Drinks include kvass, fruit drinks, jellies and herbal teas. The Ministry of Industry and Trade explained the initiative by saying that in Russian institutions English, continental and French breakfasts are more common, while Russian dishes are presented less frequently. According to the department, the new category will help tourists get to know national culinary traditions and regional products. It is planned to develop a separate logo designating such breakfasts. Regional and municipal authorities are invited to facilitate the implementation of the initiative. At the same time, the concept is essentially advisory and does not provide a mandatory replacement of the existing menu. It also does not apply to establishments with a distinct national specialty, such as Georgian, Japanese or Italian cuisine. Image for illustration.
