Authorities in Peru confiscated more than 3,000 tarantula spiders after they were found hidden inside socks in three suitcases belonging to two German citizens and one Polish citizen who were preparing to travel to Germany. The National Forestry and Wildlife Service in Peru stated that the attacks included spiders in various stages of development, from eggs and larvae to adult spiders, and they were distributed in dozens of socks in the three sacks.
