American voters in the state of Virginia have begun voting in the midterm elections to elect a brand new House of Representatives and a third of the Senate seats, in elections that may change the balance of power in Washington, expand Republican control of the government, or give the Democrats a chance to regain control of Congress after two years in which the Republicans have completely taken the levers of power in the United States.
