Yemen's foreign minister, Afra al-Zuba, discussed with her Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, the Houthi escalation, targeting civilian facilities and the continued siege of Taiz, on the sidelines of their participation in the Manama dialogue in Bahrain.
According to the Yemeni news agency, the Yemeni minister called for a special technical investigation into reports of the Houthis' use of shells suspected of containing toxic substances on some of the Taiz fronts.
Al-Zuba said that protecting navigation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab requires government support to restore state institutions, enforce the arms embargo and stop the flow of Iranian arms and expertise to the Houthis.
