The American "Wall Street Journal" revealed on Saturday a telephone conversation between President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, against the background of the preparations for the renewal of the war with Iran.
The newspaper reported that Trump is the one who called Netanyahu as part of continuing coordination with him, at a time when the US is preparing for all possibilities in the Middle East.
The Wall Street Journal added that this call comes days after a meeting held by Trump at the White House with his senior military commanders to discuss the possibilities of resuming large-scale combat operations against Iran.
The move also comes as Trump makes vigorous efforts to mobilize Republican voters ahead of the midterm elections, where the Iran war has cast a shadow over the American political scene as it has contributed to rising gas prices and led to a decline in the enthusiasm of the Republican Party's electoral base.
