US Central Command (CENTCOM) has denied the validity of reports published by media it says are under Iranian control, of commercial ships colliding with naval mines while transiting the Strait of Hormuz in recent days and weeks. US Central Command said, in a statement on the "X" platform, that these accusations are untrue, and emphasized that US forces have removed sea mines from all major internationally recognized crossing routes in the Strait of Hormuz, and that these routes are still mine-free. She added that thousands of commercial ships have crossed the shipping lanes safely, and are still using them to date.
