On Tuesday, an Iraqi court sentenced six French citizens to life and 15 years in prison, convicting them of belonging to ISIS. The Criminal Court in Karah stated that the convicts are classified as "extremely dangerous" elements due to their role in threatening Iraq's national security and destabilizing Iraq and Syria, as well as their involvement in inciting terrorist acts in other countries. The convicts were among a group of 47 French-citizen defendants received by the Iraqi authorities last year from northeastern Syria, where they were interrogated by the First Court in Karachay and referred to the competent court in accordance with approved legal procedures.
