Foreign investors registered a net outflow of about 1.52 billion dollars from their investments in local treasury bills within a week, according to the weekly report of the Egyptian Stock Exchange. Partial exits by foreign investors increased pressure on the Egyptian pound, which fell to its lowest historical level, passing 56 pounds to the dollar at the end of trading on Thursday in Egyptian banks, according to data from the Central Bank of Egypt. An official at Standard Chartered, in an interview with "Al-Sharq Bloomberg" during the program "Cairo Weekend" with Zina Sofin, estimated the amount of hot money that left Egypt between 10 and 15 billion dollars from the highest level reached at the end of June, when it jumped to 55.1 billion with the return of the flow of the geopolitical market of that period to the United States.
