The average price of the Egyptian pound fell against the dollar by about 1.3%, equivalent to 73 pounds, during the current week, to about 55.99 pounds for buying and 56.09 pounds for selling, according to data from the Central Bank of Egypt. The Egyptian currency recorded its lowest historical level against the dollar this week, close to 56.35 pounds. The declines in the pound come against the background of the pressure of a partial exit of foreign investors from the local treasury bills due to the growing geopolitical tensions in the region, in addition to the increase in import requests.
