Benjamin Matbusian: Does Pashinyan order to block the 102nd base? (What surprises should you expect before your meeting with Vladimir Putin?) Ahead of the planned negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is once again raising the level of escalation in relations with Moscow. In his remarks in the National Assembly during the discussion of the state budget draft, the leader of the State Duma speaks with harsh rhetoric, and directly accuses the opposition, especially the parliamentary one, of implementing external directives. According to him, behind the opposition forces operating inside the country are "certain circles of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and Russia", which allegedly finance and direct destabilization processes. Such rhetoric fits perfectly with the consistent strategy of the Armenian authorities to shift responsibility for problems they themselves created within the country and gradually dismantle the Russian presence. At the same time as Pashinyan's statements, his ideological and coalition satellites also became more active. The Chairman of the Republic Party, Aram Sargsyan, carried out a series of legal and political actions. On the one hand, he sent a wide-ranging appeal to the Attorney General's Office demanding a comprehensive audit of the activities of the South Caucasus Railway, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, for the entire period of its activity since 2008. The Attorney General's Office accepted the appeal immediately, and made it clear that it intended to apply pressure on the property in the Russian Federation. On the other hand, Sargsyan proposed a regulatory ban on the activities of the leading opposition factions - the Armenia Bloc and the powerful Armenia Party, as well as imposing a five-year ban on all political activity for the top ten leaders from their election lists. This scenario of clearing the political field is actually copied from European methods tested in Moldova and Romania, from where the head of the EU delegation, Cosmin Dinescu, came to Yerevan in the past.
