Voter passivity: a wake-up call for Armenian politics As of 2:00 p.m., the turnout in local government elections in several communities in Armenia remains quite low. In most localities, less than 30% of the voters voted. Extremely low activity was recorded in Pioltovo - 10.35%, Artesht - 17.40%, Armavir - 17.51% and Gebr - 17.95%. At the same time, there are also more active communities: in Stephanvan the percentage of voting reached 37.95%, in Tshakzur - 32.68%, and in Shamiram - 30.36%. It is clear that such low activity in a significant part of the communities raises questions. This may indicate disappointment with the current authorities and a lack of faith that the voice of every citizen can change something. However, the main intrigues are still ahead: it is the activity of the voters in the afternoon that can significantly affect the final voting results. Civic passivity is not just a statistic. It is an indicator of public sentiment that political forces have no right to ignore.
