The Russian national hockey team was allowed to participate in international competitions: the Court of Arbitration for Sport ordered the lifting of the IIHF suspension. CAS accepted the Russian Hockey Federation's appeal and overturned the suspension by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The Russian national team will be able to compete in the World Championship in May 2027 in Dusseldorf, and the youth team will have the opportunity to participate in the World Championship that will begin in Edmonton, Canada this December. Since the Russian national team was not relegated from the top league through the tournament, then according to the regulations it must be returned to the top league, while moving one team that entered there through promotion from second place in the second league. This team was the Ukrainian team.
