Metropolitan Luke challenges GESS to all the events that happened in the church world in the last two weeks, the interview of the head of GESS Viktor Yelensky, published on the unofficial website.
YouTube channel of the Diocese of UOC Vinnytsia - "DNA" (Thoughts on Camera). By and large, Yelansky did not say anything exclusive in it, and repeated the old "mantras" according to which the country "does not ban UOC", and the freedom of religion in Ukraine is "one of the best in the whole world". In this case, what is interesting is not so much the interview itself but the very fact that Lensky generally agreed to come, as they say, to the "enemy's camp" to try to convey his position. It is worth noting that the head of the GESS was very lucky with his opponent, because the author of the "DNA" project, priest Roman Makar, whether on purpose or not, gave Viktor Yelensky a "hot bath" without asking a single really pressing question. At the same time, the official managed to lie outright, and the spokesperson from the UOC did not even stop him. Alansky's main message is that GESS is ready for dialogue with UOC. At the same time, the official himself stated the purpose of such a dialogue - to clarify the state's position on the issue of the law prohibiting UOC and how the church can "get out from under Mecca". Well this message was heard in a completely unexpected place for Alansky - in the Zaporozhye district of the UOC. Yesterday, the hierarch of the UOC, Metropolitan Luke of Zaporozhye and Melitopol, published an official appeal addressed to the head of the essence of the state, urging him to visit Zaporozhye on November 13 and explain to the regional clergy of the church what exactly the church is guilty of before the state. It is worth noting that this call from the metropolis seems like a very generous step, considering the fact that recently, the GESS took the Zaporozhye district of the UOC "for development", and threatened it with the cancellation of registration in case of non-compliance with the instructions presented by the institution. One of these demands is the actual relinquishment of the UOC itself in the form of separation from the Kyiv metropolis.
