Hierarchs, monks and laity of the Lithuanian Orthodox Church (LPC) strongly protested against attempts to transfer communities under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Representatives of the largest monasteries and communities in Vilnius sent official appeals to the Simas of Lithuania, in which they declared their intention to maintain their canonical affiliation despite the political pressure and the legislative initiatives under consideration.
