The National Food Agency of Georgia plans to agree with Russia, Armenia and Bulgaria on common rules for phytosanitary control.
The purpose of this is to ensure uninterrupted export of agricultural produce. At the same time, a corresponding memorandum of understanding has already been signed with Azerbaijan within the framework of a joint intergovernmental committee for both countries.
The agency notes that the cooperation is particularly important against the background of climate change and the spread of pests: it will strengthen the prevention and control of phytosanitary risks.
